Our Curriculum

We have a curriculum which focuses on Life Chances and Life opportunities.

The key Life Chances subjects of English and Mathematics are central to everything we do with reading being promoted in both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

In addition in Key Stage 3 Science, Geography, History, RE, Food Technology, Arts and Crafts and PE are studied. For some students there is the opportunity to be involved in the Forestry School curriculum and music tuition.

In Key Stage 4 English and Mathematics are central to our Life Chances and Opportunities Curriculum.

In addition Science, PSHRE, Reading, RE, Tourism, Food Skills, PE and Sport and Creative Arts are studied. This is studied through a variety of qualifications including GCSEs, BTECs, Entry Level Awards, Functional Skills and AQA Unit Awards.

Some of our students follow vocational courses of mechanics, construction and hairdresser. These are part of supporting our students as they prepare for adulthood. Students study numerous AQA unit Awards during their vocational training.
